Google

Being there at the exact moment they go looking.

Somebody nearby is typing your category into Google right now. If your Google Business Profile is thin, out of date or missing, they are looking at your competitor’s photos instead of yours. For most local shops this matters more than a website.

QUICK ANSWER

What does Google marketing do for a local business?

Google catches customers at the moment they are actively looking. The priority is a complete, accurate Business Profile and strong local information; paid Search is added when the business has enough demand and budget to make it useful.

Best fit

Who this works
hardest for.

When somebody nearby searches your category, Google may show a local map pack before the normal results. That is a high-intent moment: they are not just browsing, they are choosing.

01

Google Business Profile

This is the box that appears on the right of search results and the pin that shows on Maps. It is free, it is the highest-leverage thing a local shop can fix, and almost every shop we meet has it half-finished.

  • Profile claimed, verified and completed
  • Correct hours, including festival and holiday hours
  • Photos uploaded monthly from our shoots
  • Products and services listed with prices
  • Q&A section seeded with real questions
  • Posts published weekly for offers and updates

02

Reviews, handled

Reviews help people choose and contribute to the overall prominence of a local business. We build a consistent asking-and-replying habit so reviews do not become something you remember once every six months.

  • Review request system set up
  • QR code and WhatsApp templates for asking
  • All reviews replied to, including the bad ones
  • Review volume, responses and patterns tracked monthly

03

Google Ads when it makes sense

Search ads catch people at the buying moment rather than the browsing moment. Cost per enquiry is usually higher than Meta but the intent is far stronger.

  • Search campaigns on buying-intent keywords
  • Local radius targeting
  • Call and WhatsApp extensions
  • Cost per enquiry reported monthly

Questions

Asked before
every first call.

Why does Google Business Profile matter more than a website?+

Because it's what appears on Maps and in the box beside search results. For a local shop, most people never click through to a website at all — they call or get directions.

How do I get more reviews?+

We set up the asking system — QR code at the counter, WhatsApp templates, timing after a good interaction. A stronger review profile helps customers decide and can support local prominence; there is no single review formula that guarantees a Maps position.

Should I reply to bad reviews?+

Always, calmly, and in public. A well-handled complaint reads better to a new customer than a page of five stars.

How long until I rank on Maps?+

There is no honest fixed timeline. Local visibility depends on relevance, distance, prominence, competition and the quality of the business information. We improve the parts you can control and report what changes.
