Ammesthaam
Am-mes-thaam
"We'll sell it."
Why we chose a Telugu word
Most marketing companies name themselves after a Latin root, an abstract noun, or a colour. You read the name and you still don't know what they do. We wanted the opposite — a name that a shop owner in Ameerpet, Kukatpally or Jayanagar reads once and immediately understands.
Ammesthaam is what a friend says when they take a problem off your hands. Not "we'll help you build brand equity." Just: you've got the stock, you've got the shop, you've got the recipe. Leave the selling to us.
Why it isn't a word about advertising
We could have picked something about visibility, reach or attention. Those are all things you can achieve while still not selling anything. Views are not revenue. A hoarding nobody acts on is a rented wall.
Naming the company after the outcome keeps us honest. If a month goes by and nothing sold, the name is the first thing that looks silly — and that's exactly the pressure we want on ourselves.
How to say it
- Am — as in "hum", not "aim".
- mes — a soft s, like "mess" said quickly.
- thaam — the emphasis lands here, long and flat.
Written in English throughout our work: Ammesthaam. Two m's, one s, ending in double-a-m. We keep the name in English letters across the website so the language modes stay easy to read and consistent.
And "by Ad Asthra"?
Ad Asthra is our parent company. It builds in-house marketing teams for companies large enough to need their own. Ammesthaam is the opposite arrangement: you don't want a team, you want the work done. Same people, same standards, different job entirely.
You'll see the two names together on everything we make, because we're not hiding where we came from — and because a local shop taking a chance on us deserves to know there's a bigger company standing behind it.
Questions
Asked before
every first call.
How do you pronounce it?+
Am-mes-thaam. The emphasis lands on the last part, long and flat. Two m's, one s, ending in double-a-m.
What does it mean exactly?+
Telugu for "we'll sell it". Not "we'll advertise it" or "we'll build your brand" — the word is specifically about selling.
Why not an English name?+
Because a shop owner in Ameerpet or Jayanagar reads Ammesthaam once and knows what we do. Most marketing companies have names you could stare at for a minute without learning anything.
Is it connected to Ad Asthra?+
Ad Asthra is the parent company — it builds in-house marketing teams for larger businesses. Ammesthaam does the work for shops that will never need a team of their own.
So — what do you sell?
Tell us that, and we'll tell you where we'd put you and what it costs.
